Josh Hunt, PhD

I am a neuroscientist, biostatistician, and scientific software engineer. I have ~10 years of experience leading neuroscience research projects, expertise developing scientific software with Python and R, and experience applying traditional ML and modern deep learning techniques to analyze image/video, time-series, biological, behavioral, and clinical/healthcare data. I’m interested in applied research and developing technology that will improve peoples' health, with a strong personal interest in brain-computer interfaces and other neurotechnology.

Projects and repos

Here are some of the data analysis and machine learning projects I've worked on that showcase my technical and engineering skills.
This is a GitHub repo that describes a transformer I built with PyTorch to solve a human neural speech decoding task.
This is a toolkit I developed that showcases a variety of ML/DL techniques I implemented from scratch with PyTorch.
This is a Python package that uses machine learning (scikit-learn) to extract eye movements from video recordings of the eye.
This is a Python package that showcases neural decoding techniques implemented with PyTorch.
This is a Python package for parallelizing the operation of multiple FLIR Blackfly S USB3 cameras.
This is a Python package that houses the data analysis software I developed for my doctoral thesis project.
This is a Python package I developed durin my PhD for operating a miniature virtual reality system.
A Python package for aligning single-unit data with the Allen Common Coordinate System.
This is a GitHub repository that showcases some exploratory data analysis of my post-PhD job search.
